In the wake of the death of George Floyd in 2020, the country was undergoing its latest racial reckoning. Corporations posted pledges affirming that Black Lives Matter and made statements about racial justice. Some went further, adding staff focused on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, or taking a broader look at ways to advance racial equity from within.

Since then, the public has been calling for corporations, companies and businesses to step forward meaningfully in the fight for racial equity and justice.

That’s why E Pluribus Unum is hosting a virtual conversation on Bold Corporate Leadership. During this event, EPU Founder and President Mitch Landrieu will host an armchair discussion with the CEO of Bank of America Brian Moynihan and the President of NASCAR Steve Phelps. The conversation will focus on the actions that businesses have taken on issues of race and equity.

Conversations for an Equitable South will bring together some of our country’s great thinkers, activists, advocates, and leaders on the issues of race and equity in the American South. These conversations will provide a space to discuss the lasting impact racism has had on people and institutions and, as a result, will inspire action with the intention of creating racial equity within our communities.
