Lauren Outlaw

SLauren R. Outlaw is a Policy Advisor at E Pluribus Unum who provides research, policy development, and technical assistance focused on creating a more just, equitable, and inclusive South. Her areas of expertise include project management, equitable stakeholder engagement and facilitation practices, and creating
actionable resources on myriad legal issues. She previously served as a Senior Policy Specialist at WestEd. In this role, she developed policies and protocols to promote system productivity and effectiveness, aligned strategic planning and budget processes to ensure the efficient and equitable use of resources, and provided guidance on implementing state and federal education laws. Before joining WestEd, Lauren was the Director of Policy for KIPP DC where she directed robust infrastructure changes grounded in equitable, evidence-based practices, and leveraged diverse stakeholder groups to meaningfully inform proposed legislation, rulemaking, and policy initiatives. Lauren received her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University—Maurer School of Law Bloomington and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University.
