Leroy Tre’ Hutchins

School Board, Austell, GA

Leroy (Tre’) Hutchins has been a resident of Cobb County, GA for nearly 4 decades, attending grade schools in Cobb County and graduating from Pebblebrook High School and the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts. Tre’ later attended Georgia State University and American Intercontinental University earning a BFA in Film/ General Media and a MBA. Tre’ is finalizing his doctoral studies (DBA) in business.

Tre’, as he is affectionately known, serves the community which helped raise him, as well as his sons; Edward (29), Kimo (16) and Marlon (15). He is an advocate for public schools and can be found serving area South Cobb schools and the State of Georgia in many capacities. Tre’ currently serves on the Cobb County School District Board of Education for Post 3, representing schools in Mableton, Austell and Powder Springs. Tre’ also serves on several Boards to include, Georgia PTA, Austell Community Task Force (ACT), Community in Schools Marietta Cobb County, as well as a State Advisory Panel member for the Georgia Department of Education for Special Education. Tre’ is a graduate of Leadership Cobb, class of 2022 (Cobb Chamber) and Regional Leadership Institute, class of 2023 (Atlanta Regional Institute).

In 2017, Tre’ formed the South Cobb Alliance (SCA), a steering committee committed to building a stronger South Cobb. Working closely with legislators, in January 2022, House Bill 839 was created for the incorporation of The City of Mableton. The referendum to incorporate passed in November 2022. Officially, Mableton became a city, January 2023 as Cobb County’s newest and largest city.
