Shayla J. Nealy
City Council Member (Mayor Pro Tempore), Union City, GA
Shayla Nealy is currently serving her second term as a Councilmember in Union City. In her first term, Ms. Nealy helped to secure 5,000 new jobs for the community in Union City, bringing in five large Fortune 500 companies along with several million dollars in private investments and nearly $700,000 in federal funding. Notably, Ms. Nealy was instrumental in transforming a vacant mall into Atlanta Metro Studios – one of the largest purpose-built television and film studio facilities in North America. Ms. Nealy is also the Director of Infrastructure Programming for Wendel, a nationally recognized design, construction, and energy services company. Ms. Nealy is a graduate of the New Leaders Council, the Jewell Jackson McCabe Emerging Leader Institute, the Georgia Water Professionals Leadership Academy, and the Atlanta Regional Leadership Institute. Ms. Nealy holds a Bachelor’s in Biological Systems Engineering from Florida A&M University and a MPA from Central Michigan University.
