Frequently Asked Questions

First, fully respond to all application questions and successfully submit your application. If you’re selected for the next stage of the process, then we will reach out to schedule an individual interview. All applicants will be notified no later than May 30, 2024 about whether they were accepted into the program.

Current full or part-time students aged 18-24 attending a college or university located in the American South* are eligible for this fellowship. Please note that applicants must be enrolled at their institutions (2 or 4-year) at least through Spring of 2025.

No. This fellowship is intended for students at institutions in the South.

No, but applicants should be passionate about systemic race and class equity, deeply interested in learning more about equitable solutions, and committed to advancing equity solutions in their community.

Students who are selected for this fellowship should expect to commit 1-2 hours per week.

The program begins in June 2024 and will take place during the Fall semester of 2024 and Spring semester of 2025.

As part of your application, you will need to submit a CV or resume. If you are accepted into the program, then you will need to submit proof of enrollment and a form of ID that includes your date of birth. You will also need a taxpayer ID or social security number so that we can process your stipend.

Stipends will be distributed to fellows in good standing in four installments – at the midpoint and end of each semester.

Once you start your application in Submittable, you will be able to save your draft and return to your saved draft at a later point in time.
